Travel Journaling Series: Stationery supplies I took to Paris!

We had planned to go to Paris in 2020, but thanks to you-know-what, everything got postponed indefinitely…but a couple weeks back, we finally got the chance to visit the beautiful city in France.

But as this is a stationery blog, and we’re all stationery addicts, let’s get to the important bit…what stationery/memory-keeping supplies I took with me to Paris! This is a quick guide for you to refer to when you plan your next trip, so that you can start a travel journal, or even for simple memory-keeping!

It is important to carry the items that you may need, but be careful not to bring along too many unnecessary items, as that will just take away from you being able to actually enjoy the journey and experience!

An assortment of supplies I took along with me to Paris

Here’s a list of what I took with me to Paris:

  • Coloured pens
These are a must-have for any trip, I believe! They are a fun way to take quick notes, and also handy to fill out some quick paperwork.

  • Small envelope/pouch
This is a great solution to store all memorabilia that you want to carry back from your trip! Use a simple small envelope or a cute pouch to keep track of all bits and bobs that you may pick up in your travels and want to save for memory-keeping. This is a good way to save bookmarks/receipts from getting crumpled, and having all the beautiful memories stored in one place for easy retrieval.

  • Notepad
Use a notepad to jot down quick notes for yourself, like the name of a dish that you tried and loved at a restaurant, or the bus number you want to take to reach a certain landmark from your hotel. I use it as a way to keep track of my itinerary so that after I return, I can journal using these notes! If you track your finances, this is also a great way to keep a tab of your expenses on the trip (especially the cash transactions, as they get fiddly sometimes!)

  • Stickers
Of course, no stationery list is ever complete without a nice set of stickers, so of course I took along my Dutch houses sticker sheet so that I wouldn't miss the Dutch landscape too much ;)
Stickers are a great way to add some character to your journal page, so I always ensure that I have a few handy with me. And now that I started making my own stickers, it’s even more fun to do this!

Hope you enjoyed this list of stationery supplies that you should take on your next trip!
