Travel Journaling Series: What I bought in Paris as a stationery lover!

Most people go to Paris and bring back designer purses, beautiful dresses, signature perfumes, or even chocolates! My tastes are a little different, and so I brought back…well, stationery!

Yes, from my visit to the fashion capital of the world, I brought back stationery supplies! Read on to find out what I bought! Oh, and don’t forget to check out the bonus tip!

Notebooks and pens- MUJI
There are very few people in the world who love stationery and have not heard of MUJI. Its minimalist style is inimitable, and I love their style.
I still remember when I was working in Delhi and read that a new branch was opening at Saket Select Citywalk, I was so hyped that I visited the store on its opening day. I was such a regular visitor that many of the staff knew me…a bit embarrassing, but I looooved visiting the store. And when I moved to the Netherlands, I was so disappointed that the nearest branch was in Germany. So when I saw that there were branches in Paris, naturally I dragged my long-suffering husband there! And it was glorious…
Be sure to check out MUJI’s collection of notebooks and pens. I am particularly partial to their dot-grid notebooks, as they have amazing quality and are a treat to write in. They also have a great collection of pens, and I love their mechanical pencils as well.

Traveler’s Notebook inserts- JUNKUDO Paris
This store is heaven for anime and manga lovers. It has a huuuge collection of Japanese comics and lots of fun stationery bits and bobs. My primary goal behind this visit was to score some Traveler’s Company goodies, and I hit the mother lode! They had an assortment of items from the brand, but I was after the inserts, as I was eager to try them out. There was also a variety of origami paper as well as washi tapes in stock.
If you are into Japanese stationery and comics, this store is a must-visit. It is quite close to the Louvre Museum, so be sure to factor in a trip when you visit!

Art journal
I was on the lookout for a watercolor journal, and I found it! I am a huge proponent of the belief that not everything can be found on the internet. Sometimes it’s nice to go on a journey and discover some hidden gems that turn out to be exactly what you’re looking for!

Bonus tip: It is a nice idea to build a collection from your travels. Some like to collect coins, others stamps…so here’s an idea: collect notebooks! MUJI has an option where you can stamp your notebook for free after making your purchase. So I bought a notebook and stamped it with the Eiffel Tower!
And that is going to become my Paris travel journal. It is not only a great souvenir, but also an effective way of memory-keeping!
